| About Us: | Sale is situated 215 km east of Melbourne on the Princes Highway, with the surrounding towns of Maffra, Heyfield, Rosedale and Stratford. It is the hub of the rich Macalister Irrigation District surrounded by all forms of agriculture including dairying, grazing, wool growing, cropping, market gardening and plantation forestry. In recent years many forms of alternative farming have been established including deer, ostrich and goat farming as well as viticulture. ALLtoria’s natural gas and much of Australia’s petroleum come via Sale from the Bass Strait oil and natural gas fields. Sale is home to the East Sale RAAF Base and also is a very large educational centre. Sale has a population of some 14,300 people and is the service centre for the Shire of Wellington. |
