About Us: An independent publication to the Lockyer, Somerset & Ipswich regions. The first edition of The Lockyer & Somerset Independent hit the streets on 14 October 2020. The newspaper was started by former Gatton Star staff following NewsCorp's regional restructure in June 2020.

Newspaper Name : The Courier-Mail
About Us: Welcome to Brisbane and Queensland’s No.1 source of news, sport and analysis of the big issues affecting our state.
An influential voice in Queensland politics and the state’s first newspaper, The Courier-Mail was founded in 1846 as the Moreton Bay Courier, as it was known then.
In 1861 it became a daily newspaper and in 1864 was renamed the Brisbane Courier.
One of the paper’s many competitors over the years, The Daily Mail was launched in Brisbane in 1903. It did not remain a competitor for long; in 1933 The Courier-Mail was formed through the merger of The Courier and The Daily Mail, and Queensland Newspapers Pty Ltd was born.
In 1987, News Corp acquired Queensland Newspapers.
The Courier-Mail website was launched in 1998 and in 2006 the paper moved from a broadsheet to compact format.
The paper’s online and print operations merged in 2008.

About Us: The Chronicle is a proud regional daily newspaper focussed on Toowoomba, the Lockyer Valley and Darling Downs.
Staff work to ensure The Chronicle holds its position as the dominant source of news and information in the community. Each day the Chronicle carries the latest news and sports, as well as advertising in a range of areas including bargains, classifieds, property, cars, jobs, public notices and community information.
Following a research project in mid-2003 – which surveyed 3300 readers – major changes were made to the edition. Our readers indicated they were satisfied with the news and information in the paper, but wanted more lifestyle and entertainment. As a result, special features have been added or improved in each day.
These include a weekly jobs and sports feature, business, Tuesday’s My Life, Entertainment Weekly (including the television guide) and My Weekend. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. People say The Chronicle no longer just keeps them up to date, but adds something extra to their day.
The Chronicle is part of Toowoomba Newspapers Pty Ltd, which publishes a range of publications. Others include Toowoomba’s Mail, the Gatton Star, Dalby Herald, Northern Downs News, and Roma’s Western Star. It also produces specialist publications such as Rural Weekly and national industry magazine, The Pork Producer.
